Helen’s kids are leading the school at rural Peria!  In addition to the tapestry, these guys took me to the nearby stream where we found invertebrates and a baby eel!

We wished Elvis a safe journey upstream.  They’re even giving me a bus ride tomorrow to visit and feed some tame eels that live near one of the kids.  COOL!  I had tears in my eyes when I said “goodbye” to these little environmental activists!  Their genuine appreciation for the tuna program is the greatest reward I could have.  I hope to keep working with Peria once I’m back in the Sonoran Desert… and want to visit them again.

Also, a BIG thanks to Soozee McIntyre (center of photo below) for all the sewing and support… this thing would not be happening without her!
